Join Us for an Unforgettable Expeditionary Learning Trip to Jeju Island, Korea!

This program is designed for teenagers and young adults who are curious, adventurous, and eager to engage in self-directed learning. It’s ideal for those who love exploring new cultures, enjoy active outdoor experiences, and want to challenge themselves through personal growth. The trip is also suitable for those who are physically fit and able to walk long distances, as the journey involves extensive hiking and exploration on Jeju Island’s pilgrimage trails. Parents or guardians who wish to provide their children with a unique, immersive learning experience that blends education, adventure, and cultural exchange will find this program particularly beneficial.

We will start with a flight from Denpasar to Seoul. From Seoul, we'll take a connecting flight to Jeju Island. Once on the island, we'll mainly follow the pilgrimage walking trails to explore, with local transportation available as needed to reach different parts of the island. This journey allows us to experience both the vibrant culture of Seoul and the natural beauty of Jeju.

We’ll embark on a collaborative project where the team will come together to choose from a range of exciting activities. These may include cultural explorations, outdoor adventures, hands-on experiences, and reflective sessions. By working together, we’ll ensure that each activity aligns with our goals and interests, creating a dynamic and enriching experience for everyone involved.

• Arrival & Orientation: Begin the journey in Jeju City with an introduction and exploration of local culture.
• Cultural Exploration & Coastal Walk: Experience Jeju's beaches, parks, and markets, covering various trails and engaging in cultural activities.
• Tea Culture & Green Landscapes: Discover Jeju's tea culture and partake in a traditional tea ceremony.
• Waterfalls & Coastal Beauty: Enjoy scenic walks along trails leading to breathtaking waterfalls and coastal views.
• Sunrise & Island Views: Hike for sunrise and explore island vistas.
• Island Adventure & Marine Life: Opportunities for snorkeling, sea kayaking, and hiking.
• Reflection & Departure: Conclude the trip with a reflective session and farewell before departing from Jeju City.

For this trip, your child will need a valid passport, and depending on their nationality, they may need a visa to enter South Korea. We recommend checking the visa requirements for your specific country well in advance. Health insurance is also required; ensure your policy covers international travel and any potential activities they’ll participate in, such as hiking and outdoor exploration.

Prepare for active exploration by bringing comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a small backpack for daily essentials. Other essentials include a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and any personal items you may need for the duration of the trip. We encourage you to pack light to make moving between locations easier.

In addition to the main trip, the program includes four pre-planning meetings with the team to discuss and decide together logistics, goals, and expectations. After the trip, there will be two follow-up meetings to reflect on the experience, share insights, and plan any next steps. These sessions are designed to ensure a well-rounded and meaningful journey from start to finish.
